Event Registration: Terms and Conditions

1. Orders and Provision of Courses 

Your order constitutes a contractual offer that Humentum may, at our sole discretion, accept.

Our acceptance is indicated by Humentum sending you an order confirmation email. Only once Humentum has sent you an order confirmation email will there be a binding contract between you and Humentum.  

Order confirmations under will be sent to you before the course begins and shall contain the following information: 
  • Confirmation of the courses ordered include full details of the main characteristics of those courses. 
  • Fully itemized pricing for the courses ordered including, where appropriate, taxes, delivery and other additional charges. 
  • Relevant times and dates for the provision of the courses. 
  • User credentials and relevant information for accessing those courses.  
  • If Humentum, for any reason, does not accept your order, no payment shall be made under normal circumstances. In any event, any sum paid by you in relation to that order will be refunded within 14 calendar days.

2. Courses and Pricing

While every effort has been made to ensure that all general descriptions of courses available correspond to the actual courses that will be provided to you, Humentum are not responsible for any variations from these descriptions as the exact nature of the courses may vary depending on your individual requirements and circumstances. This does not exclude our liability for mistakes due to negligence on our part and refers only to variations of the correct courses, not different courses altogether.

Humentum neither represents nor warrant that such courses will always be available and cannot necessarily confirm availability until confirming your Order. Availability indications are not provided on the Website.

All pricing information on the Website is correct at the time of going online. Humentum reserves the right to change prices and alter or remove any special offers from time to time and as necessary.

If prices are changed during the period between an order being placed and the courses taking place, then the price that was valid at the time of the order shall be assumed.

3. Tax Liabilities

Humentum invoices are net of taxes, including withholding tax and VAT, levied in countries outside of the United States. The responsibility for assignment, collection and payment of local and national taxes lies with the customer; Humentum accepts no liability for payment of local taxes due on the services provided.

4. Course Payment Policy

Payment is due on registration. Single registrations must be paid via credit card at the point of registration. Payment must be paid prior to the start of the course. Group Registrations can be paid by invoice on request, (see section 5.), however payment by credit card for is the quickest way to guarantee seats for a course.

5. Group Registration

Group Registrations of 8 persons or more for the same course on the same date; qualify for a group discount. No refunds are permitted for group registrations. Substitutions can be made for a learner up to 7 days before the course begins. Please inform customerexperience@humentum.org of the requirement for a group registration.

Group Registrations will be invoiced, and the invoice must be paid with 14 days of its date, otherwise we cannot guarantee the seats on the course are available. Group Registrations will not be accepted for a course, that is due to start in less than 21 days from the request.

6. Substitutions

A registrant on a group registration can be substituted by another registrant on the same type of course and on the same course date, by up to 7 days prior to the start of the course. Please contact customerexperience@humentum.org to make any changes.

7. Transfers

If you need to transfer to a new course, you will be required to cancel your current course and rebook. Please inform customerexperience@humentum.org.
Transfers will only be permitted up to 14 days before the start of a course.

8. Course Attendance Policy

Participation is required to receive the certificate of completion. Course learners must complete all required elements of the course (which could include modules, assignments, or discussions) to receive the digital certificate.

9. Course Cancellation Policy 

  • Humentum wants you to be completely satisfied with the courses you order from Humentum. If you need to speak to Humentum about your Order, then please contact customer experience by email at customer.experience@humentum.org. You may cancel an Order that Humentum has accepted in accordance with the following terms.
  • If you are a consumer based within the European Union, you have a statutory right to a “cooling off” period. This period begins once your order is confirmed and the contract between Humentum and you are formed and ends at the end of 14 calendar days after that date. If you change your mind about the courses within this period and wish to cancel your order, please inform Humentum immediately via email: customerexperience@humentum.org
  • If a course is booked less than 7 days prior to the start of the course, you will lose the right to cancel the services even within the cooling off period.

All Registrations: Will receive a full refund. 

Cancellation requests made after 15 calendar days of registration  

Cancellations will forfeit the full registration fee. (See transfers)

Humentum initiates a course date change or a cancellation

Humentum works hard to avoid changes to planned courses, but occasionally Humentum may have to change the date or cancel scheduled courses. Under these circumstances you will receive a full refund. Humentum will advise you of the next available date, for you to be able to rebook. 

10. Refunds

Where applicable, a refund will be issued within 5 working days and in any event no later than 14 calendar days after you inform Humentum that you wish to cancel.

11. Privacy

Use of the Website is also governed by our Privacy Policy for Humentum which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by this reference.

Humentum may use your personal information to: 
  • Provide courses for you 
  • Process your payment for the courses; and Inform you of new products and services available from Humentum. 
  • If you do not wish to receive such information, please click on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in any email which you receive from Humentum. 
  • Humentum will not pass on your personal information to any other third parties without first obtaining your express permission. 

12. Consent for use of image and voice

Attendance at Humentum events constitutes an agreement by the attendee to Humentum’s use and distribution of the attendee’s image and/or voice in photos, video or audio tapes recording during these events. 

13. Intellectual Property

All Content included on the Website, unless uploaded by users, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code and software is the property of Humentum, our affiliates or other relevant third parties. By continuing to use the Website you acknowledge that such material is protected by applicable HUMENTUM and International intellectual property and other laws.  

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, store or in any other fashion re-use material from the Website unless otherwise indicated on the Website or unless given our express written permission to do so.  

Humentum shall use all our reasonable endeavors to provide the courses with reasonable skill and care, commensurate with best trade practices.  

If courses are provided that are not in conformity with your order and thus incorrect, you should contact Humentum immediately to inform Humentum of the mistake. Humentum will ensure that any necessary corrections are made within five (5) working days. Humentum provides technical support via our customer experience team, and Humentum makes every effort possible to respond in a timely manner, but Humentum does not guarantee a particular response time. 

14. Disclaimers

Humentum makes no warranty or representation that the Website will meet your requirements, that it will be of satisfactory quality, that it will be fit for a particular purpose, that it will not infringe the rights of third parties, that it will be compatible with all systems, that it will be secure and that all information provided will be accurate. Humentum make no guarantee of any specific results from the use of our courses or other services.  

No part of this Website is intended to constitute advice, and the Content of this Website should not be relied upon when making any decisions or taking any action of any kind.  

No part of this Website is intended to constitute a contractual offer capable of acceptance.  

While Humentum uses reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Website is secure and free of errors, viruses and other malware, you are strongly advised to take responsibility for your own internet security, that of your personal details and your computers. 

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Humentum accept no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the Use of the Website or any information contained therein. You should be aware that you Use the Website and its Content at your own risk.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts Humentum liability for death or personal injury resulting from any negligence or fraud on the part of Humentum.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts Humentum's liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising out of the incorrect provision of courses or out of reliance on incorrect information included on the Website.

If any of these terms are found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that term is to be deemed severed by these Terms and Conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining Terms and Conditions. This term shall apply only within jurisdictions where a particular term is illegal. 

16. Third Party Rights

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall confer any rights upon any third party. The agreement created by these Terms and Conditions is between you and Humentum.

17. No Waiver

If any party to these Terms and Conditions fails to exercise any right or remedy contained herein, this shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy.

18. Previous Terms & Conditions 

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless it is expressly stated otherwise. 

19. Law of Jurisdiction 

These Terms and Conditions and the relationship between you and Humentum shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the District of Columbia, USA and Humentum.
